It took longer to unpack the lock from the box it came in than it did to have the lock break. (Less than 3 minutes.) This is worse than junk (junk doesn't cost twenty-dollars). I can't believe the beating I took on this item. I still think the idea is great. But "plastic" for a door lock? So much for twenty-dollars.
Description of Zelco Lock Up Door Lock
The take-along door lock for ultimate security in hotel rooms, dorms and bedrooms. Lock up for the night and sleep without fear of intruders. It's simple to install (takes seconds), and, with its quickrelease lever, it comes off even quicker than it goes on both right and left hand doors. When installed, lockup cannot be dislodged, or tampered with, by anyone attempting to break into the room, and Lockup makes it infinitely more difficult for any hostile person to physically break down the door. Storage pouch (included) makes it an easy traveling companion. COlor: Black Dimensions: 177 x 50 x 19mmIdeal for locking a door from the inside, this take-along lock provides security and privacy because it cannot be dislodged or picked from the outside. It installs in seconds, releases instantly with its lever, and works equally well on doors that open to the left or the right. Installing is an easy four-step process: insert the end of the lock's steel bar into a door frame's "strike plate," close the door on the bar, slide the square portion's padded end against the door, and push the lever to lock.
